4. Hound Joke of the Week

This Week in the Hound House:

We prayed for rain and the heavens opened! We had soaking rains
twice this week. I picked two bouquets this morning. Keep
praying.

1. Opportunity for Experts
======================================

This week, I became one of the nine PR experts on a new question
and answer website called 1Q9A.

If you’re a true expert in your field, and not just someone who
claims to be one, you’d be smart to jump on this, too.

1Q9A covers 90 different professional fields, each with a panel
of up to nine experts. Once a week, one question per field is
selected from the public for each of the category experts to give
their opinion by video, using a webcam. Hence the name 1Q9A.com.

If you don’t have a webcam, they’ll provide one.

You can hear my answers along with some of the PR industry’s top
professionals every Wednesday at
http://1q9a.com/business/public-relators.html, where you can also
subscribe to new answer alerts or or submit your own question.

If you too are at the top of your industry, I’d recommend taking
a look at http://1q9a.com/join.html where you can find out about
increasing your own exposure by applying to join a 1Q9A panel.

2. Follow my Tips on Pinterest
=====================================

I’ve pinned the first four tips on free publicity to my Pinterest
board called “50 Tips for Free Publicity.”

People who are following me are repinning the tips. But more
importantly, the project has resulted in a nice little bump in
traffic to my blog posts. That’s because each time I pin, I
assign a link to each image. The link sends people back to the
blog post I’ve just written that explains the tip in-depth.

Are you following my Pinterest board?

If not, go here:

Thanks, Don Crowther, for explaining how to do this. I was at
Don’s house two days this week for my Mastermind group. Just wait
until you see the cool things he taught me how to do with social
media and video!

4. Hound Joke of the Week
====================================

Thanks to Darlene Arden of Framingham, Massachusetts for this
one.

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he
planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote:

Dear Hotel,

I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-
groomed and very well-behaved. Would you be willing to permit me
to keep him in my room with me at night?

An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who said, “I’ve
been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I’ve
never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures
off the walls. I’ve never had to evict a dog in the middle of the
night for being drunk and disorderly. And I’ve never had a dog
run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my
hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you’re welcome to
stay here, too.”
