Offer advice on how businesses can cope in a bad economy

Empty pocketsHere’s a great example of how a smart Publicity Hound is passing along tips for small business owners who want to make sure their clients pay their bills.

Margie Zable Fisher of Zable Fisher Public Relations offered four excellent tips in a blog post “Don’t Let Your Small Business Get Stuck with the Bill.” For example, ask for payment up front, and get signed agreements.

I hope she pitches these tips to business editors because this is exactly the type of story they’re looking for.

Margie specializes in PR for small businesses and is also author of the special report “Skyrocket Your Sales by Getting Your Product in Target.” She explains in step-by-step detail how to do it, even if you’re a small business.

What tips can you pass along to the media, or through your blog, or a video, or in an article for your website? Make sure you link to the tips from Twitter.

    Hi Joan,

Thanks for the shout-out. Yes, I am pitching these ideas to business editors. I have had several recent placements in the WSJ and AP with these types of angles.

    Best,
    Margie

I just forwarded a Twitter Tips strategy (including Tweets) to a client so that he can share ways that others may persevere in a poor economy. Those Tweets are further formatted as a tip sheet to be sent to local media.

I think any honest and positive views on what’s happening on Wall Street, can provide a lift — and benefit — to readers.

I wrote a check list about recession proofing your business. Email me and you shall receive.

Really, really watch your time. How? create or recreate your ideal client profile and make sure that all marketing/networking/pr efforts get you “in front of the most of them in the least amount of time” … think hundreds at a time… thousands… millions!

The bottom line is to do the things you know you should have done… ! marketing plan, etc. etc.

    And…

Do something good for others. It’s very easy to revert into “workaholic” mode …. it’s the quality of your work not the quantity of the hours. Doing something good for others will keep your heart in the forefront.
