This Weekend in the Hound House:
My Garden Club loved my recipes for veggie snacks I made on Thursday night. We met at Weeds, a really fun garden store that specializes in recycled, repurposed, biodegradable, renewable products. The owner treated us to fruited iced tea. You can see my favorite recipes for using veggies from your garden at and my favorite item in her store.
1. The Top 60 PR Blogs
Looking for more PR tips on media coverage, PR campaigns, blogger relations, reputation management, crisis communications and more?
If so, you’ll want to check out two recent curated lists and bookmark them.
–Inkybee, the membership site that helps you build lists of influential bloggers, just published its list of the Top 60 PR Blogs. The Publicity Hound blog was ranked #47 on that list.
–Cision, which provides PR software, published its list of the Top 50 Public Relations blogs. My blog ranked #25 on that list.
Any time you see curated lists like these, or lists of experts in your industry or experts who you’d like to get in front of, follow up! These lists are golden resources. Learn how to use them by reading my tips.
2. Social Buzz Club Follow-up
A reader emailed me after seeing last week’s item recommending Social Buzz Club, a membership site that’s a collaborative content sharing system in which bloggers promote each others’ posts and other content.
He said he upgraded to a paid account and was disappointed with the dearth of information in the self-help area.
I contacted Laura Rubenstein, who owns the site, and she said they will be adding much more personal growth content and also changing their search function so it’s easier to find content.
She also said users should be searching for content by keywords, not by category.
I suggest you sign up for free. If you like it, consider upgrading. (I get a small commission if you do.)
Also, on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. Eastern, she’s hosting a free webinar on how to get the most out of Social Buzz Club.
3. Training for Speakers and Authors
Jack Canfield refused to quit after more than 100 publishers had rejected Chicken Soup for the Soul, the book he wrote with Mark Victor Hansen.
If you’re an author or a speaker, you shouldn’t either.
Listen as Jack shares his best tips on how to get where you want to be. He’ll be the guest on Steve Harrison’s teleseminar at 2 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
Jack was featured in the movie The Secret, and his Chicken Soup series has sold more than 500 million copies. I’m a compensated affiliate for Steve Harrison.
4. Hound Video of the Week
Thanks to Publicity Hound Kathleen Mahan of San Juan Capistrano, CA, for sharing this precious 13-second video that shows what a dog does when the air conditioning is on full blast and it’s way too cold.
