1. The Power of Facebook Photos
==================================
If you’re on Facebook, you should be using photos in 9 out of 10
posts or status updates, especially if you’re using it for
business.
Yes, 9 out of 10! (I’m guilty of not coming anywhere close to
this.)
Facebook gives more “weight” to photos than it does to simple
links, and using lots of photos–videos, too—ensures that more
of your friends and fans will see your content.
This tip is one of dozens that Mari Smith, The Queen of Facebook,
shared on the free webinar she hosted last week on “10 Essential
Facebook Money-Making Techie Tips.” Publicity Hounds who want to
be among the “Best of Breed on Facebook” will make time this
weekend to watch the video or read the 26-page transcript at
http://budurl.com/facebookmakeover
I did. And I’m doing everything differently.

2. Infographics Boost Interest
================================
What’s the first thing you’re attracted to when you see an
article in a magazine or at a website?
It’s often the map, bar chart, pie chart, flow chart,
illustration or cartoon that accompanies the article.
Infographics are a valuable part of your publicity campaign.
They’re also a smart, easy way to generate interest on Pinterest,
the super-hot site that lets you “pin” images. If people see an
interesting infographic that ties into to your book, product or
service, they can click on it and either repin it, or go directly
to your website to learn more.
Editors love infographics because they dress up a page. Bloggers
love using infographics that you create, because it’s one less
thing they have to do.
I don’t have a technical bone in my body, but I’m having fun
experimenting with a variety of free and inexpensive tools and
apps that let me create infographics for business or for fun. You
can see some of the easier one’s I’ve created in this post at my
blog at http://publicityhound.net/?p=11366

Thanks to Publicity Hound Teri Blaschke from Von Ormy, TX, for
this Animal Planet video of an enterprising dog that can’t swim
but figures out how to retrieve a toy from the middle of a
swimming pool.
