The Duluth Trading Co. opens a new store today where I live in

1. Sell Your Blog for the Kindle
======================================
Bloggers are looking under every rock for ways to monetize their
blogs.
But most of them aren’t doing one of the easiest things possible
to get massive exposure and earn a little money. They aren’t
publishing their blogs in the Kindle store.
An Amazon employee told me this week that only 4,050 blogs are
available for the Kindle. I almost fell over!
There are, roughly, more than 6.7 million blogs. If my math is
correct, that means less than 1 percent of the bloggers publish
their blogs. Go there now for instructions on how to get started.
Kindle Blogs are auto-delivered wirelessly to the Kindle and
updated throughout the day. They are fully downloaded onto your
Kindle so they can be read even when you’re not wirelessly
connected.
People can subscribe to my blog there for 99 cents a month, and
Amazon automatically renews their subscription monthly until they
cancel. I make only a pock full of change, but the exposure is
fabulous, considering the millions of people who buy from the
Kindle store.
I know 27 other ways to make money from blogging and I explained
them all during the webinar “27 Ways to Monetize Your Blog.” It
comes with the 16-page electronic transcript on how to outsource
work to freelancers. Hint: Give a freelancer several dozen blog
posts and tell her to turn them into an ebook that you can sell.
Is that easy, or what?

2. How to Pitch a TV Segment
=====================================
It’s called a segment proposal, and if you want to get onto a TV
talk show, it can separate you from all the other publicity-
seekers who are clueless about how to approach the TV station
with a great idea for a show.
The segment proposal is a one-page summary of not just your idea,
but of little details that will help the producer visualize the
segment.
If you’ve written a book about dogs, let the station know you’ll
bring your lovable collie with you. (These shows LOVE animals.)
What about props? If you have them, mention them.
What’s the take-away for the audience? These shows LOVE counter-
intuitive messages such as “How to lose weight by eating buttered
popcorn.”
During the webinar I hosted on Thursday, author Clint Arthur
walked the audience through the most important elements of a
segment proposal and showed them exactly what it looks like. He
also listed the four ways to pitch TV shows and explained why
don’t have to be good-looking or slim (even though the hosts are)
to get onto local shows. Tips galore!
Oh, and you’re welcome to use the “How to lose weight by eating
buttered popcorn” formula but substitute your own topic.

Bingo came into Cole Hein’s life when he was just 2 years old to
assist the boy with an undiagnosable disorder that stops Cole
from breathing. The dog has saved Cole’s life many times. When
Bingo was diagnosed with a debilitating disease, Cole decided to
create a “lick it list” of things he wanted Bingo to experience
before she dies.
