This Weekend in the Hound House:
My friend, who has taken several cruises, says she can fit everything she needs for a weeklong cruise into two carry-on bags. No hassling with lost or checked bags at the airport or on the ship. Do you think she’s pulling my leg? (See Item #2 below.)
1. Powerful, Proven Headlines: Webinar Today
The words “proven” and “powerful” in headlines make people click and read.
You opened this email, didn’t you?
Those words are among a list of special power words that marketers have tested when conducting direct mail and email campaigns. They know that those words make people do exactly what you tell them to do.
The webinar I’m hosting today on “Headline Tips, Tricks, Tools and Templates That Make Readers Click” at noon Eastern Time will give you more than two dozen more power words you can use when writing headlines for your website, blog, articles, and email pitches to journalists.
It’s from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern Time. If you can’t make it live, register anyway because I’m recording it and you’ll get the video replay and all the bonuses, including the list of power words, within 72 hours.
This webinar will give you a headline toolbox that includes several free tools I found that no headline writer should be without. One of them actually writes your headlines for you! I couldn’t believe it when I tried it, but it works. And it’s a great lifesaver when you’re up against a tight deadline.
Register and get all the bonuses including the headline toolbox.
2. Cruising with Me? Decide Now
The Chicks at Sea have packed hundreds of tips for authors into four free webinars this past month to prove to you how much we know about book publishing.
We’ve convinced new and veteran authors to join us on our cruise to Cozumel and Grand Cayman Jan. 18-23 in the Caribbean.
If you missed the webinars, you can find links to them all–including 17 of the best gems we shared–at my blog.
Now, it’s your turn.
You’ll need to decide by Thursday, Oct. 31, if you’re coming with us. Reserve your cabin no later than Thursday and you can save a boatload of money. Hold off, and the price jumps.
If you’re still not sure, listen to at least one of our webinars. After four sessions presenting with the Chicks, I am so much smarter about book publishing than I was a month ago.
Most surprising to me were the many publishing scams that lurk around almost every corner, and the huge opportunities that can help authors because of major changes in book distribution, printing and the weakened New York publishing houses.
If you bought just one hour of consulting time with each of us, it would cost you $1,500, more than spending five days with us at sea.
