4. Hound Video of the Week

This Weekend in the Hound House:

I’m still laughing from this series of funny newspaper
corrections and can’t decide which one is my favorite. I love
them all! Click here and scroll down to see the slideshow:

1. My Biggest YouTube Mistake
======================================

Back when I didn’t know any better, I’d create and edit a video,
upload it to my YouTube channel, write a quick title, write one
or two sentences for the description, and tag it with a handful
of keywords.

And on to the next video. What a missed opportunity!

Then I took Jeff Johnson’s “YouTube Traffic Secrets” course and
learned that one of the biggest mistakes I was making was not
using all 5,000 characters that YouTube allows for the
description of the video. Yes, 5,000 characters, about as big as
a 900-word article!

The description is an ideal location for a website address, a
call to action, benefit and value statements and helpful tips–
and all that copy should include valuable keywords that will pull
traffic.

The title, the description and the tags are three items listed on
Jeff’s cheat sheet “15 Ranking and Discoverability Factors on
YouTube.” I love the cheat sheet because it’s a checklist of all
the things you must do to pull the maximum amount of traffic and
create publicity galore. No more guessing.

The cheat sheet is among several that Jeff will let you access
for free. Grab ’em, along with the first two videos in his free
YouTube video series.

2. Red Hot Internet Publicity
====================================

I was honored when Penny Sansevieri asked me to write the
foreward to her new book, “Red Hot Internet Publicity.”

But I was blown away when I read it! Here’s a nugget from the
book on super-creative ways to use your email signature:

–Consider rotating files for sales, specials, announcements or
when you’re pitching the media to push a particular book, topic
or segment for your business.

–You can even customize your signature line for the media to
include things like your “hotline” numbers and how they can reach
you instantly.

–If you get a lot of emails requesting the same information,
like services or book information, consider creating a signature
line just for that so all you have to do is select that signature
when you hit the reply button and then send it off.

You could even have a signature “file of the week” with a quote
or new saying.

If you like those tips, you’ll love the book. Buy “Red Hot
Internet Publicity”.
