This Week in the Hound House:
Only four days until the Wisconsin State Fair! Cows. Cream puffs.
The Turtles (60s group). Lots of Oohs, Aahs and Moos.

1. Make TV Producers Love You
======================================
They land with a thud on the desks of TV producers and guest
bookers at ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox News and other cable channels
daily.
They’re bulging press kits, filled with books, photos,
overstuffed folders, trinkets and even unwanted gifts. They go
right into the trash.
TV producers are too busy booking guests who know the secrets of
how to land a spot on the big shows like “Ellen,” “Dr. Oz” and
“Good Morning America.”
A former NBC producer who booked guests for the “Today” show and
“Dateline NBC” will share the secrets of how to dazzle producers
and become a regular guest on national TV, or even get offered
your own show (think Dr. Phil). You can hear all about it, and
learn about how other smart, savvy people just like you landed
coveted spots on big TV shows, during a free teleseminar with
Steve Harrison on Wednesday, Aug. 1.
Half the battle is knowing how to brand yourself for the media in
a way that celebrates your uniqueness while also separating you
from all the experts in your field. You’ll learn about how
Jennifer became a regularly-featured lifestyle expert on Fox News
Channel and “The Early Show” as well as scoring coverage in
hundreds of print outlets including O The Oprah Magazine,
Redbook, US Weekly, Success and Entrepreneur.

2. Add LinkedIn to Quora
=====================================
Thousands of people ask questions at Quora.com. Smart experts
answer them and sometimes end up with job offers and consulting
assignments.
If you aren’t answering questions there yet, start. After you
create your profile and tell Quora your areas of expertise,
you’ll receive an email when someone asks a question related to
your topic.
Quora has just added a feature that also lets you link to your
LinkedIn profile. In Quora, click on your name in the upper right
corner, go to Connect Accounts, and add your LinkedIn URL. While
I was there, I also linked from Quora to my blog.
Yesterday on Quora, I answered a question about the best strategy
for a coordinated press launch on the major tech blogs. You can
read my answer, vote it up or down, and join the conversation
