This Weekend in the Hound House:
I’m busy preparing for a visit from my sisters this week. One teaches horticulture at Ohio State. The other is a Master Gardener. Guess what they’re willing to do? Yard work. Life is good.
1. How to Monetize Your Publicity
How valuable is publicity if you aren’t making any money from it?
If you’re pulling people to your website but you have very little to sell to them when they arrive, you’re leaving money on the table.
At an authors conference in the spring, I watched a fascinating presentation by digital publishing expert Danial Hall. He walked the audience through the step-by-step process of turning a series of simple tips into a digital video product that you could sell for $47, $77 or even $97.
Here’s the best part.
You don’t need any technical skills to do it or expensive software programs. My jaw dropped when I saw this.
I asked Daniel if he’d do the same training for you, for free. He said yes.
Join us from 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, June 24, for a webinar on how to “Create a $47 Video Info Product TODAY That Sells Like Gangbusters!” Register here.
Why two hours instead of one? Because when you leave, you’ll be able to start the process immediately, whether or not you take him up on his offer at the end.
If you’re not interested in selling anything, you can use his system to create a hot “lead magnet” that will have people tripping over themselves to sign up for your email list and get your digital freebie.
2. 10 Terrific Twitter Bios
When was the last time you updated your Twitter bio? I wrote mine years ago and haven’t touched it since.
You’ll find lots of inspiration in the article 10 Terrific Twitter Bios in Website Magazine.
Notice that many of them include hashtags, a link to a YouTube channel, customer service phone staffing hours, phone numbers, a street address and hours of operation. My bio focuses on me. I’ll bet yours does too. Their bios focus on their customers.
I’m off to rewrite my Twitter bio…
3. 25 Best Tips for Authors
Imagine how much smarter you’d be if you could get five of the top book publishing experts in one room for an hour, and hear their best tips on how to publish, market, distribute and publicize your book online and offline.
Now, you can.
You’re invited to a free webinar with book shepherd Judith Briles, book distributor Amy Collins, book designer Joel Friedlander, virtual assistant Kelly Johnson and me, from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23.
We’ll each share our five best tips for authors. I already know which tips I’ll be sharing. I can’t wait to hear theirs. Register here.
You’ll also learn about our third annual Publishing at Sea cruise Jan. 24-31 in the western Caribbean and how to save $300 if you register by the June 30 early bird deadline.
4. Hound Video of the Week
Nothing will make you smile more than five minutes of dogs smiling. My favorite is at 00:24.
