This Weekend in the Hound House:
The birds and squirrels are eating me out of house and home, and it’s not even December yet. Each morning, I throw a handful of peanuts in their shells into one of the six bird feeders behind my house. Within a half hour, the peanuts disappear. I also render suet, mix it with bird seed and make suet cakes for my feathered friends. It’s my way of thanking them for the free show they perform every morning just outside my kitchen window. They wait in line and jockey for the best seats at the feeders.
1. How to Contact Google Support
Ever try contacting Google when you have a problem?
Perhaps your YouTube channel has disappeared.
Or maybe you’re a nonprofit that’s heard a rumor that Google gives free Adwords to qualifying nonprofits.
Or perhaps you’re struggling to understand Google+ and you don’t know where to turn.
Bookmark the helpful list of How to Contact Google Support, Sorted by Service.
Don’t expect Google to respond to all your questions, however. That’s why the list includes discussion forums devoted to Google.
For help with Google+, you’ll find a link to the Google Plus for Small Business community where you can ask a question and get a helpful answer from Stephan Hovnanian or his five volunteer moderators.
I tipped off Nicole Kohler to that community when she emailed me to let me know she had updated this list recently. Nicole is the same person who wrote that great blog post about multiple product photos that I shared with you on Tuesday.
2. Why People Can’t Find You
If you’re using multiple websites for your business, and they’re all related, you could be promoting your tail off, yet making it very difficult for people to buy your products and services.
That’s the problem that two consulting clients had this month when they worked with me for one hour each to help them promote their businesses.
In one case, a client used a portal page to link all her websites. People had to return to the portal page to get to the next site. The multiple sites were competing against each other for traffic.
In another case, a client who had a killer YouTube channel with more than 150 videos didn’t know how to send people there from her three websites.
In both cases, I recommended that the clients start promoting themselves as their brand and consolidate all their content into one website.
Many authors face this same problem when they write books about unrelated topics. When you are the brand, you can promote yourself and pull all visitors to one website. Once they arrive, you can then lead them in the right direction, further into the site, depending on what they need.
When you buy an hour of consulting time with me you get a coupon good for $100 in products, but only after the call. This saves you time and money because I don’t have to spend much of our hour together repeating information I’ve already presented in one of my many infoproducts. You have more time to ask questions and I have more time to give you solid answers.
Reserve a consulting session with me. I’m launching a new product in December and I’ll be swamped. So grab some time in November while it’s still available.
3. Sell More on Amazon via Twitter
Sell books or other products on Amazon?
Be sure to tell everyone who follows you about two powerful marketing tools offered by Amazon and Twitter.
–Consumers who are on Twitter and see an Amazon link for a book or product they want can click “Reply” and type the hashtag #AmazonCart. Amazon will automatically add the item to their cart.
–Consumers can also add items to their Amazon Wish List without leaving Twitter by clicking “Reply” and typing #AmazonWishList.
In both cases, add it now, buy it later.
If you’re selling on Amazon, make sure your tweet includes the actual Amazon link so followers recognize it. Watch the video that demonstrates how this works.
That’s one way to sell books.
Now learn how to sell truckloads of them. Penny Sansevieri walks you step by step through the process of How to Launch a Book, Promote It and Sell a Truckload–Without an Expensive Publicist.
The video replay of the paid webinar covers simple keyword research, spying on your competitors, what journalists want, how to write press releases that sell books, key marketing tricks on Amazon and lots more.
The giant package of bonuses includes book promotion resources, what to expect if your book really takes off and a major publisher comes knocking, how to use Goodreads to sell more books, and more.
