This Week in the Hound House:
I can’t remember if I told you about this Forbes article on “Top
Leaders Share The Best Advice They Ever Received.” I was
surprised at how many of them mentioned the importance of moving
on after failing at something. Bookmark this, and come back to it
when you’ve had a bad day.

1. Help for Your Slogan or Tagline
======================================
Need a slogan for your new company? Or a tagline for a product
you’re ready to launch?
Before you turn to expensive ad agencies and professional copy
writers that can cost you a bundle, go to SloganSlingers.com,
where talented slogan writers can compete to create a catchy
slogan and tagline, at a price you can afford.
Create an account, and explain the details of what you need and
the attributes of the slogan you want. Upload relevant images and
set your contest amount. The more you’re willing to spend, the
more elite writers you’ll attract.
Dozens of writers will see your contest and submit their best
work. You rank the entries and choose your winner. Here are some
recent marketing slogans from Slogan Slinger writers:
For Zozzo’s Burger Bar: “Picasso Used a Canvas, We Use a Bun.”®
Baptist Vein Center: “Vein, Vein Go Away.”®
Doom Bros. Haunted House: “Kids Eaten Free.”®
Oscar’s Wedding Catering: “Eat, Drink and Be Married.”®
Watch the short video on how Slogan Slingers works.

2. Google+ Vanity URLs Coming
====================================
Remember when you weren’t quite sure if you wanted to join
Twitter? You were told to set up an account anyway and claim your
Twitter handle so no one else could steal it.
Same with Facebook.
And now, you need to move quickly so you’re ready to claim your
Google+ vanity URL as soon as you are able, even if you aren’t
ready to use the world’s second largest social media site.
Google says vanity URLs are coming soon but they aren’t saying
exactly when. That means you should have a Google+ account, a
completed profile and be ready to claim your own URL so you’re
not scrambling around at the last minute trying to figure out how
to get established on the site.
During last week’s webinar with social media strategist BL
Ochman, she convinced attendees that Google+ is far more valuable
than Facebook when it comes to ranking high in Google search
results. She explained how to get the tiny photo of your face to
appear next to blog posts and articles you’ve written when
someone searches for your topic.
And she explained all the ways to use Google Hangouts, perhaps
the most valuable feature in the Google+ toolbox.
If you missed attending live, we recorded it. You can access the
entire package of download links for “Why G+ Matters to Your
Business and How to Use It Wisely”.
Publicity Hound Alexandrea Shaw writes:
“So happy to spend $49.95 to find that I am on the Google Train
in the best way….Thanks to you and BL for it all…I have
confidence now…So glad I got your email for this webinar.”
You’ll be thrilled, too, when you watch the replay of how to use Google+.

3. News Release Contest Q&A
====================================
Publicity Hounds who want to know how to enter the News Release
Contest sponsored by Expertclick are asking these two questions:
Q. When signing up, why do I have to tell them I want to be
‘billed monthly’ at $59? I thought you said the contest was
free.”
A. It is free. This simply gets you into their system. You’ll get
a comp account until June 14, and at no time will they bill you
because you aren’t giving them a credit card number.”
Q. How many news releases can I submit during the contest?
A. One per day, if you wish. This is a great opportunity to get
your releases online NOW, while the contest is under way.
Ten winners will be chosen to share in a prize package worth
$18,000. The quicker you join, the better your chances of
winning. Read all the News Release Contest Rules at my blog.
Even if you don’t feel like entering the contest, share this link
with your own blog readers, ezine subscribers, Twitter followers,
LinkedIn connections and Facebook fans. They’ll love you.
