This Weekend in the Hound House:
It’s tax time! I’ll be sifting through piles of paper on my
kitchen table, organizing everything for my accountant. You too?
Take a break and watch the “Today” show’s Hoda Kotb and Kathie
Lee Gifford call the IRS Tax Extension Helpline while on the air.

1. Free Social Media Photo Tool
======================================
Maintaining multiple social media sites with sterling content is
difficult enough.
But keeping track of all the photo requirements for each site can
make even the most organized Publicity Hound growl.
Your worries are over, thanks to Social Media Image Maker at
http://www.autreplanete.com/ap-social-media-image-maker/, a free
tool that resizes and retouches your social media images.
No more fretting about the exact dimension of your Facebook cover
photo, or whether Facebook will crop and remove the most
important part of a photo you’re using in a status update.
That’s happened to me this week, and it made my status update look
amateurish and sloppy. When social media expert BL Ochman blogged
about Social Media Image Maker at her blog at
http://www.WhatsNextOnline.com, I knew my prayers were answered.
You can use the tool for Twitter, YouTube, the new sizes for
Google+, Flickr, Vimeo, Pinterest, Skype, Tumblr, LinkedIn,
Gravatar, Xing, Viadeo, SlideShare, Foursquare and About.me. You
can even add filters similar to those you’d use with Instagram.
You can see how it works by reading more about it at my blog at
I’ve compiled the 60 best ideas on how to navigate the world of
social media and publicity, particularly helpful if you have a
super-tight budget and are looking for smart tools like this one
to save time and money. You’ll hear them all in a video replay of
a webinar I hosted on “60 Ideas in 60 Minutes.” Read about how to

2. Add Opt-in Boxes on LinkedIn
====================================
If you collect email addresses for an ezine like this one, or for
email marketing, you’re leaving addresses–and money–on the
table if you don’t have an opt-in box on LinkedIn.
I have two: one on my LinkedIn Profile and one on my Company
Page.
Adding them is easier than you might think. I give you step-by-
step instructions in a blog post at
You can thank me by following The Publicity Hound on LinkedIn. Go
to
http://www.linkedin.com/company/2711350?trk=prof-0-ovw-curr_pos
and click the “Follow” button in the upper right corner.
If you don’t have a Company Page yet, now’s the time. This is the
perfect place to promote on LinkedIn to a group of followers who
have asked you to keep them updated on what you’re doing. I heard
the tip about the opt-in box from Wayne Breitbarth when he was my
guest a few weeks ago on the webinar on “How to Use LinkedIn
Company Pages & Ads to Attract an Audience, Promote Your Heart
Out and Help Them Buy.” Read about the cool things Wayne taught
when he went live on the Internet, and access the video replay at
