This Week in the Hound House: After digging out of 10 inches of
snow with a snow blower, three different size shovels and a broom
yesterday afternoon, I sighed and thought about how lucky I am
that I don’t live in Boston. Stay safe up there during the storm
today, OK?

1. Bye, Bye Boring Bio
=====================================
It’s all most Publicity Hounds can do to create one well-written
bio that encourages people to call them, learn more about them,
and even hire them.
Nancy Juetten (rhymes with button) has not only one bio, but six.
Yes, six!
They’re all different lengths, including one that’s only six
words, and they’re for different uses. She even made it easy for
you to access all of them at her website.
After you read them, and learn about all the other interesting
tidbits about her, you’ll understand why Nancy is the foremost
expert on how to tell a story and broadcast your brilliance
through your bio.
If you have time to write only one bio, make it work for you.
Whether you want to attract clients, speaking gigs, or media
interviews with your bio, you can follow Nancy’s road-tested and
easy five-part system to prepare winning stories about your
expertise.
She’ll explain it on a free webinar from 2 to 3 p.m. EST on
Thursday, Feb. 14.
Seeing as how it’s Valentine’s Day, you’re going to fall in love
with her tips. I have. I’ve been following her for many years,
and she continues to amaze.
If you don’t know how to identify the unique, interesting, even
quirky things about you that others would love to hear about so
they feel like they already know you before they pick up the
phone, don’t miss this call. Nancy will even work one-on-one with
a few volunteers and help them rewrite their own bios right on
the call.

2. LinkedIn Email = Book Contract
====================================
Nataly Kelly spent years pitching publishers with an idea for a
book on how language changes our lives and affects the world.
She even hired a book agent, with no results.
But she got a book contract anyway, all because of one 75-word
pitch that she emailed to a book editor who was in her LinkedIn
network.
The book, published in October, is now in its fourth printing.
How’s that for ROI? You can read all about it at my blog.
During Thursday’s on all the new tools and tweaks that LinkedIn
has introduced the last several months, LinkedIn expert Wayne
Breitbarth said too few people use LinkedIn’s email program call
InMail to really make powerful connections, like Nataly did. He
walked Publicity Hounds through the procedure of how to search
for people who you need to contact, and then the correct way to
connect with them.
Wayne also shared a million-dollar idea about the “Courses”
section of your profile on LinkedIn. I had ignored this. Who
would care about what courses I’ve taken? But Wayne made a
suggestion on two ways to use that section so that you stand head
and shoulders above your competitors.

Thursday’s webinar, “LinkedIn Update: What’s In, What’s Out
& Under-the-Radar Tricks to Help You Crush It in 2013″ and all
the other bonuses, including the checklist of “103 Powerful Calls
to Action” that you should be using all over LinkedIn. Later today
or tomorrow, I’m emailing the link for the page where you can
