Lesson #73: The best press release distribution service if you’re on a tight budget
If you distribute only several press releases a year and you’re on a tight budget, PRWeb is one of your best choices. Its clients include Fortune 500 companies, and it specializes in press release distribution for small- and medium-size businesses.
I’ve heard many people rave about the results, and some of the press releases in this tutorial were distributed by PRWeb.
PRWeb discontinued its free press release distribution service on October 23, 2006, which is just as well. The free service meant your release was “parked” at the PRWeb website, and the search engines might or might not have found it.
Your most inexpensive option is to pay $80 so the release is “pushed” into Google and Yahoo news and so people can find it easily when they’re searching online.
You can also pay $120 or $200 for even higher upgrades with more features. But many people I’ve spoken with have been very happy with the results they’ve gotten from the $80 service.
To get a price schedule, go to the PRWeb website, and click on the “Sign up Now” button where you can register for free. After you’ve registered, click on the “contact us” tab at the top of the page for the phone number or email address.
For people who don’t want to write their own press releases, or if your releases need rewriting or “polish” from an editor, take advantage of PRWebDirect.
Opportunity #73: Speaking engagements
When you book a speaking engagement, write a press release. A speaking engagement isn’t only an event in which you speak before a live audience. It includes a free or paid teleseminar, an in-person seminar, retreat, workshop, podcast, webinar, group coaching program, book signing or author event, a membership site or support group.
At SpeakerMatch.com, members can search the call for speakers database on a number of criteria. The list shown at their site is meant to give you an idea of the types of opportunities they list in their database. For information about becoming a member and receiving notifications about those opportunities, click the signup button to the right.
