Lesson #69:  Where to learn more 

The smarter you become about search engine optimization, the greater your chances of leaving your competitors in the dust. That’s because if you can correctly optimize press releases and any other pages at your website, you’ll get a high ranking in the search engines. 

While researching information for this tutorial, I came across a wide variety of websites, blogs, articles and ebooks that will help you. Here they are, in no particular order:

This ebook is my bible for Internet marketing and includes a great section on search engine optimization that’s so easy to understand that even non-geeks will understand it.

Reality SEO Blog
Search engine optimization expert Mike Valentine has posted some terrific articles on many different aspects of SEO, including why trading links with people is a waste of time.

Check out the long list of keyword research tools, including some that are free.

SEOBook.com
This blog by Aaron Wall offers marketing tips and analysis on SEO.

Google Ranking Factors
How does Google rank web pages? The algorithms it uses change from month to month and nobody knows for sure, but this page gives some educated guesses. If you’re new to SEO, this might be a better source for your webmaster.

SearchEngineWatch
This blog features news items that keep you up to date on what’s happening with the search engines.

Chat Forums

Retiring from your job? Write a press release. I’ve seen lots of press releases from people who retire from government jobs. They mention in the release that they will be doing consulting on the side–a quick and easy way for them to attract clients.
