Help a blind person sidestep the captcha on Facebook

Judith Bron of Spring Valley, NY, writes:

“I’m not the only blind person in the world, nor am I the only one who doesn’t have a Facebook account.

“However, I wouldn’t mind having Facebook and Twitter accounts or an active LinkedIn account.  The problem is that whenever I go to these sites, I’m asked to identify something visually.  Like the deaf can’t hear, the blind can’t see.  What can be done with social networking sites to make them accessible to everyone?

“And does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get around this problem?”

Hi Judith there is a very simple solution that you can use to over come this problem. There is a plugin for mozilla firefox called web visum and is available on http://www.webvisum.com. install the plugin and use the keystrokes that is recommended by the plugin for your screen reader and your work will be done by this plugin.

Once you give the key command this plugin will solve the capture for you and you will be directly able to paste into the captcha form and all this process will take few seconds to a minute.

I am also blind and if you would like to know more about accessible social networks visit this site http://www.inclusiveplanet.com which is a accessible social network website for people with visual challenges. Here people share softwares, books, music and a there is world that is unseen. Being a Digital strategist i can understand how vision plays a major role in these social networks.
