Pitching Holiday Stories? How to Know Your Deadlines

Understanding how deadlines fluctuate between print, online and broadcast media can confuse even the savviest Publicity Hound who wants publicity for a holiday-related product, service, cause or issue. 

You won’t find a “one size fits all” rule, unfortunately. And even if you know all the deadlines, you can sometimes convince a media outlet to cover your story if you miss one. 

Most of this advice applies to all major and minor holidays. But I’ll walk you through your deadline options specifically for the end-of-year holidays that include Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.
