Find content, submit articles at EzineArticles.com

Do you publish a print or online newsletter and need articles? Are you a speaker or author who wants to track what your competitors are writing? Do you want to be notified every time a new article is available from any of 21 categories of articles?

If so, EzineArticles.com has a f~ree new service designed to save you time.

Sign up and check the boxes for the categories that you want to receive. One word of caution. These happen in real-time and the volume can be high at times, so only select the categories that are from your niche or core area of expertise.

The emails that are sent for this new alert service will include the article title, author name, article summary and a link to the article. The website is accepting requests now and will begin sending in real-time within the next 10 days because the programming team is still working on the automation process.

You can also submit your own articles at the website. But before you do, know your rights. Three times in the last week, Publicity Hounds have emailed me with questions regarding their own articles. One saw information from her article printed almost verbatim on a message board and ask me what she should do (email the author and ask that he give you credit). Another said he wanted to copyright his articles but asked if he has to file with the U.S. Copyright Office (no). Another wanted to know if she’s free to offer her article, originally published in a trade magazine, to a larger publication (it depends who owns the copyright).

The time to learn the answers to those questions is before you write, not afterward. Attorney Patricia Eyres, who specializes in intellectual property, was my guest during a telephone seminar last year called
“Legal Issues You Must Know When Writing Articles for Fee or for Free.” It’s available as a cassette tape or CD and explains the finer points of things such as rights, copyright protection, reprints, and where to find loads of legal information on these topics for f~ree.
