First webinar with our JV partner brings lots of questions

During our first webinar yesterday with one of our joint venture partners, Patsi Krakoff, participants submitted a lot of great questions.  Here’s one:

Q. “If I’m not supposed to be promoting on social media sites, then how am I supposed to sell anything?”

A. Sell your expertise first by giving lots of great content.  Offer tips, advice and information that help people tackle difficult problems.  Lead your friends and followers to articles and how-to videos, tips lists and quizzes.  Once you bowl them over with how much you know, they’ll be curious about WHAT ELSE you know.  You’ll gain their attention and loyalty. They’ll check your profile which, of course, links to your website or blog.

Our new product, “Social Media Rx: Your 20-Minute Prescription for Cutting through the Clutter, Chatter and Confusion” explains exactly what percentage of time you can promote on the social media sites without irritating people.  By promoting, we mean heavy promoting, like letting people know when your new ebook is for sale and linking to the sales page, or letting them know that you’re taking applications for your coaching program.

The product includes an assessment with about 40 questions, mostly multiple choice, designed to show you how much you do—or don’t—know about social media.  We also ask you to tell us about your family, pets, interests and hobbies, areas of expertise and job.

When you’re done, you receive a customized 25-page report that gives you the answers to the questions.  It also includes a social media formula that tells you how much time you should be spending offering, for example, general tips and advice that can help almost anybody, like how to save money at the supermarket, vs. tips and advice that tie into your area of expertise.

The report comes with a package of six handy checklists that outline specific tasks that should do at sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, your own blog and a niche social media site.  We break down tasks by day, week and month, and we even tell you if they can be delegated to an assistant or if you must do them yourself.

Our next teleseminar, the second of three, is Dec. 30 with book marketing guru John Kremer.
