Press Release Tip 88

Press Release Tip 88

Other ways to use your press release

After you’ve posted your press release online and sent customized pitches to media outlets where you want coverage, you can use your press release many other ways:

  • Add a link to all your releases in your online press room or media kit.
  • Link to the release from blog posts that discuss the topic.
  • If you publish a lot of releases regularly, ask your webmaster to set up an RSS feed.
  • Link to your press release page from a call to action: “Keep up with what’s new. Read our newest press releases.”
  • Share the news on Linkedin with a short update and link to it from your profile and company page.
  • Include a link to your press releases in your LinkedIn profile.
  • Share your release in Linkedin groups, but follow the group’s guidelines regarding promotions.
  • Share a photo that accompanies the press release on Instagram.
  • Tweet a short summary and link to the release.
  • On Quora, the giant question and answer site, you can answer a question and link to your release if it adds value for the reader.
  • Link to your release when responding to a HARO lead.
  • Include a link to your newest release in your email signature.
  • Post it to Craigslist. This free site still gets a ton of traffic. Its Community category has subcategories for activities, artists, classes, events, local news, musicians, pets, politics, volunteers and more.
  • Link to a relevant release from the description in a YouTube video.
