Press Release Tip 72

Press Release Tip 72

Use quality links that readers find useful

Use links in your release to direct your audiences to content that will help them. Examples include:

  • Product purchase pages.
  • Backgrounders and FAQs for journalists and analysts.
  • How-to information such as a link to a video that demonstrates how to use your product.
  • A report or survey results that you’re writing about within your release.
  • A White Paper you’re offering.
  • A page where they can access a free report, checklist, quiz, etc. in exchange for their name and email address.
  • A blog post or article on your website that offers more in-depth information on a topic.
  • A Facebook or LinkedIn group they can join if they want to learn more about a topic.

If you’ve created a sales campaign, you can determine the success of your press release by driving traffic to a specific sales page at your website for that campaign, reserved only for traffic that comes from a press release. You can then measure the amount of traffic through your Google Analytics.

Don’t use links that have nothing to do with the topic of your press release.

Opportunity #72: Services for people with disabilities

If you’re adding services for people with disabilities, let the world know. That might include everything from special ramps they can use to enter your building to any technology-based services to help sight-impaired people who need to use computers.

Next: Use a link in the call to action.
