\n1. How to Find PR Clients
\n======================================<\/p>\n
When Linda Jay Geldens attended a computer conference and saw an
\ninternal newsletter on a table at the back of the room, she
\ncringed when she saw it riddled with typos.<\/p>\n
She circled all the mistakes in red and made an appointment to
\ntalk with the newsletter’s editor.<\/p>\n
As she slid the heavily edited newsletter onto his desk, she said
\nbrashly, “You need me.”<\/p>\n
He agreed and hired her immediately. For more than a year, she
\nedited the newsletter for the company, Apple.<\/p>\n
Do you wait for business to come to you? Or do you come right out
\nand ask for clients like Linda does?<\/p>\n

\n2. Tweet. Rinse. Repeat.

Don’t assume that all your followers on Twitter are reading your
\ntweets as soon as you post them–or at all.<\/p>\n
I have a lot of followers in Australia, for example, and the
\nPublicity Hounds Down Under are in a time zone that’s 14 hours
\nahead of me.<\/p>\n
That’s why I’m starting to rewrite tweets so that slightly
\ndifferent versions go out eight, 10 or 14 hours after I publish
\nthe original versions.<\/p>\n
Unless you’re on someone’s Twitter list, and they import that
\nlist into Hootsuite or Tweetdeck, chances are good they can miss
\nyour tweets.<\/p>\n
