Lazy Way to Create Fun Video<br \/>\n=====================================<\/p>\n<p>Producing video has never been my idea of fun.<\/p>\n<p>I have almost no technical abilities. I sometimes find video so<br \/>\nconfusing that it eats up hours of precious time.<\/p>\n<p>Talking head videos require me to fix my hair, wear make-up, put<br \/>\non something that looks half decent, and clean my office.<\/p>\n<p>During post-production, I hate tinkering with a video&#8217;s<br \/>\nresolution, frame rates and bit rates so it looks crisp.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re like me, you&#8217;ll fall in love with Animoto, a<br \/>\nsubscription service that lets you create TV-quality videos from<br \/>\nphotos you&#8217;ve taken yourself, or from stock photos you&#8217;ve<br \/>\npurchased.<\/p>\n<p>You can even add text. I see this mistake all the time, and it&#8217;s one of the<br \/>\nfirst things I mention when I do telephone consultations with<br \/>\nclients.<\/p>\n<p>My nominations for the worst page titles:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&#8220;Home&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;&#8220;Welcome to my website&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;The name of your company<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Your name<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Your tagline or motto<\/p>\n<p>Missing from all of the above are keywords that people would type<br \/>\ninto the search engines if they didn&#8217;t know you but were looking<br \/>\nfor the kind of information, products or services you provide.<\/p>\n<p>The fix is fairly simple, but only if you know what you&#8217;re doing.<br \/>\nFull instructions, including the maximum length of each page<br \/>\ntitle, is in the f*ree report &#8220;7 Deadly SEO Mistakes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a StomperNet member and give them my enthusiastic &#8220;two paws<br \/>\nup&#8221; endorsement.<\/p>\n<p>===================================<br \/>\n3. &#8216;World&#8217;s Best Job&#8217; PR Stunt<br \/>\n===================================<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re in charge of promoting a destination right now, while a<br \/>\nworldwide recession is putting travel plans on hold, there&#8217;s<br \/>\nnothing like a PR stunt to catch people&#8217;s attention.<\/p>\n<p>Tourism Queensland, in charge of promoting Australia, dreamed up<br \/>\nthe &#8220;World&#8217;s Best Job&#8221; contest in which people competed for the<br \/>\njob of caretaker of picture-perfect Hamilton Island, on<br \/>\nQueensland&#8217;s Great Barrier Reef.<\/p>\n<p>The winner, 34-year-old Ben Southall, a charity fundraiser from<br \/>\nPetersfield, Hampshire, must live alone on the island for six<br \/>\nmonths and then report back to the world via blogs, a photo<br \/>\ndiary, video updates and interviews.<\/p>\n<p>More than 34,000 people applied for the job that pays $150,000<br \/>\nand comes with a three-bedroom beach home, a swimming pool and<br \/>\ngolf cart.<\/p>\n<p>The job description requires the winner &#8220;to explore the islands<br \/>\nof the Great Barrier Reef, swim, snorkel, make friends with the<br \/>\nlocals and generally enjoy the tropical Queensland climate and<br \/>\nlifestyle.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to Publicity Hound Gary Knowles of Madison, Wis. for<br \/>\nsharing this one.<\/p>\n<p>This promotion was all over the social media sites, a reminder<br \/>\nthat if you&#8217;re not including these sites in your publicity<br \/>\ncampaigns, you&#8217;re missing reaching millions of people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How to do Social Networking, Run a Business &amp; Still Have a Life&#8221;<br \/>\nexplains how to get started, how to save time, sites where you<br \/>\nmust have a presence, and tips for letting people know, like and<br \/>\ntrust you BEFORE you promote.<\/p>\n<p>========================================<br \/>\n4. Dump That Default Avatar<br \/>\n========================================<\/p>\n<p>I mentioned this a few weeks ago but it&#8217;s worth repeating,<br \/>\nbecause many of you are making this mistake.<\/p>\n<p>No reputable Publicity Hound would even THINK of commenting at a<br \/>\nblog or participating in social media without creating a<br \/>\nuniversal avatar that automatically displays their photo as they<br \/>\ngo from site to site.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.Gravatar.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Create your own gravatar<\/a> by first signing up for an account. You can upload<br \/>\nyour smiling photo, which is far better than those cartoon-character-like icons,<br \/>\nor your company logo, or a dumb photo of a landscape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/publicityhound.com\/blogs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">At my blog,<\/a> a small percentage of people who comment have gravatars.<br \/>\nThose who don&#8217;t have them end up with my default avatar next to their<br \/>\ncomment. It looks like a gray pawn on a chess board. What a missed opportunity<br \/>\nto display your smiling face in front of thousands of people!<\/p>\n<p>After you&#8217;ve created your avatar, make sure your profile is as<br \/>\ngood as it can be. Almost every profile I read can be improved.<br \/>\nSocial networking expert Nancy Marmolejo explained what the ideal<br \/>\nprofiles include, during the teleseminar I recorded with her,<br \/>\nwith step-by-step instructions on how to dress up yours. It&#8217;s<br \/>\ncalled &#8220;Can Your Social Networking Profile Pass the 10-Second<br \/>\nTest?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>=====================================<br \/>\n5.
