\n1. What Was Sandusky’s Lawyer Thinking?
\n=====================================<\/p>\n
Crisis Communications 101 teaches that before you agree to a
\nmedia interview, you must anticipate every killer question you’ll
\nbe asked.<\/p>\n
Create a well-thought-out response to each one, and rehearse
\nuntil you can answer each question confidently.<\/p>\n
Criminal Law 101 teaches that your client who is charged with a
\ncrime has the right to remain silent.<\/p>\n
It was disaster on both fronts last night when Bob Costas of
\nNBC’s “Rock Center” interviewed disgraced Penn State football
\ncoach Jerry Sandusky, charged with sexually abusing children.<\/p>\n
Sandusky denied being a pedophile but said he had a serious lapse
\nin judgment when he showered with young boys.<\/p>\n
Here’s an excerpt, in which Sandusky was interviewed by phone,
\nwith his lawyer seated next to Costas.<\/p>\n
Costas: “Are you sexually attracted to young boys, to underage
\nboys?”<\/p>\n
Sandusky: “Am I sexually attracted to underage boys…sexually
\nattracted? No, you know, I enjoy young people. I love to be
\naround them….I…I…But no, I’m not sexually attracted.”<\/p>\n
It wasn’t until this morning that NBC released the full
\ntranscript of the Costas interview, which is far more damaging
