Your Own &#8220;Seal of Approval&#8221;<br \/>\n=====================================<\/p>\n<p>The Good Housekeeping &#8220;Seal of Approval&#8221; has been reassuring<br \/>\nconsumers about product quality for more than a century.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s one of the most recognized consumer emblems in the market<br \/>\ntoday. Two years ago, the magazine added the Green Good<br \/>\nHousekeeping Seal to help consumers identify products that are<br \/>\neffective and environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n<p>What if you could have your own &#8220;Seal of Approval&#8221; that would<br \/>\nunderscore your expertise in your field? Just think of the<br \/>\npublicity that you could generate!<\/p>\n<p>You could award the seal to a certain number of products,<br \/>\nservices or companies each year and then, pitch bloggers and<br \/>\njournalists. Winners would imprint your seal on their products,<br \/>\nuse it in paid ads and launch their own publicity campaigns. Yahoo Launches Weekend Edition<br \/>\n======================================<\/p>\n<p>Yahoo launched a weekend news and entertainment guide last week<br \/>\nthat&#8217;s devoted to lifestyle topics such as travel, health and<br \/>\nentertainment.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s called Weekend Edition at<br \/>\n http:\/\/weekendedition.news.yahoo.com\/, and it can lead tons of<br \/>\ntraffic to the registration page for your online and virtual<br \/>\nevents. That&#8217;s because the site geo-locates the incoming user to<br \/>\nfeed them schedules of local events and localized news.<\/p>\n<p>Many of those events come directly from Upcoming.org, which is<br \/>\npart of Yahoo. What will people<br \/>\ngain from taking your courses? Tell them! Be specific. Also,<br \/>\nspell out how the classes work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From Phyllis Zimbler Miller:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I checked out the meta tags of your site, and it appears you<br \/>\nhave none besides the non-keyword-optimized title tag &#8216;To Write<br \/>\nWell.&#8217; A subtitle using keywords along with that title would be<br \/>\nvery helpful&#8211;and definitely a description meta tag using<br \/>\nkeywords that people might search with to find your site would be<br \/>\nvery helpful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From Kathi Petersen:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m from Asheville, too. And while we folks from Western N.C.<br \/>\nembrace our eclectic population of tie-dye meets necktie, gray-<br \/>\nhairs and pink-hairs, mohawks and ponytails (with a big splash of<br \/>\nspirituality and quantum physics thrown in), I&#8217;d be concerned<br \/>\nthat anyone outside of Asheville might balk at the &#8216;woo-woo&#8217;<br \/>\nbackground of some of your faculty, several of whom focus on the<br \/>\nparanormal. It just seems inconsistent and less professional than<br \/>\nwhat I was expecting.
