Look far beyond traditional media when it’s time to promote your next event.<\/p>\n
Social media offers dozens of opportunities to spread the word. The secret? Stay organized by creating own checklist of things you’re going to do.<\/p>\n
Alyson Stanfield, an art marketing expert who every artist should be following, has compiled an impressive list of 22 Social Media Updates About Your Show That Won’t Bore Your Followers<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Even if you aren’t an artist, you can steal some of her ideas. These are perfect for speakers, trade show organizers, authors, convention planners, fund raisers, nonprofits and entertainers:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

- On Facebook, share images video, and links that are related to your subject matter. Tag people, businesses and organizations that would want to know about your event.<\/li>\n
- Tweet examples of contracts or form letters you found helpful during the process.<\/li>\n
- Leave notes of enthusiastic anticipation about your upcoming show on the Facebook pages of the venue. This could be a hotel, library, museum or book store.<\/li>\n
- Blog or Facebook your task list for the last two weeks leading up to the opening.<\/li>\n
- Pull together a SlideShare video of all the art in the show, or other things that will featured.\n

2. Killer LinkedIn Tip<\/h3>\n
If you share helpful content in an active LinkedIn group, chances are good that many group members already know, like and trust you.<\/p>\n
But are they connected to you? Do they know where to find your LinkedIn Company Page?<\/p>\n
When you start a discussion, or comment on someone else’s, remind people that you’d love to connect. Also give the link to your Company Page.<\/p>\n
Don’t do this repeatedly or it will look obnoxious. But sometimes a discussion lends itself well to baiting the hook.<\/p>\n
