If so, supply tips on how to be romantic to tie into Valentine&#8217;s Day, or Sweetest Day in October.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;Offer helpful how-to advice that ties into your topic. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mysterypartners.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bill and Susan Albert<\/a> have a series of mystery books featuring <a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20120717071814\/http:\/\/www.mysterypartners.com\/China\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">China Bayles<\/a>, the main character, who has an herb shop, and they&#8217;ve promoted themselves as experts on the topic of herbal lore. The bigger the prize, the better the publicity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;Create your own day, week or month of the year that&#8217;s associated with the topic, and submit it to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhprofessional.com\/templates\/chases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chase&#8217;s Calendar of Events<\/a>.\u00a0Then tie news releases and other promotions to the special day.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;In her book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.communicationcreativity.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Jump Start Your Book Sales,&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0Marilyn Ross suggests that authors can ask their local newspapers to sponsor a &#8220;complete the short story&#8221; contest.
