That means\u00a0it&#8217;s a great time for Publicity Hounds to pitch.<\/p>\n<p>PR Week offers these tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Many progressive outlets don&#8217;t have large staffs and rely primarily on freelancers, so look to pitch writers rather than just the outlets.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Liberal outlets often want a lot of perspective and analysis, so position clients as experts and be sure to highlight issues surrounding online hard news stories.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Don&#8217;t be too ideological: with an articulate&#8212;and thick-skinned client&#8212;even outlets with conservative hosts, like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>, can be a place to argue for a liberal cause or promote a progressive book. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Progressive media include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenation.com\/issue\/march-27-2006\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Nation<\/a>, blogs such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DailyKos.com<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternet.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AlterNet,<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.democracynow.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democray Now<\/a> (the flagship of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pacifica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pacifica Radio<\/a>), and TV shows like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Colbert Report<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comedycentral.com\/shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Show with Jon Stewart<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0March 13 issue of PR Week reports that\u00a0liberal media seem to have a heightened profile,\u00a0mostly because of the opposition to the war in Iraq.
