Because it lets visitors know that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I meet tough BBB <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbb.org\/us\/Business-Accreditation-Standards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">membership standards<\/a><\/li>\n<li>I\u00a0agree to follow the highest principles of business ethics and voluntary self-regulation<\/li>\n<li>I have a\u00a0proven record of marketplace honesty and integrity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>People who don&#8217;t know anything about me will be less hesitant\u00a0to\u00a0give me their credit card number\u00a0if they know I&#8217;m a member of the very organization\u00a0they can compain to if they don&#8217;t like something I&#8217;m doing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The BBB logo does something else.\u00a0It adds to my credibility when journalists visit my website. If they&#8217;re thinking\u00a0of writing about me, or hiring me as a freelancer, or using me as a source, or reprinting one of my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.publicityhound.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">articles,<\/a> membership in the BBB\u00a0might be the\u00a0one little thing that makes them decide that I&#8217;m worth doing business with.<\/p>\n<p>The other logos on the left side of\u00a0my wbsite also show my membership in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.NSAspeaker.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Speakers Association<\/a>,\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/topinternetconsulting.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Internet Association of Information Marketers<\/a>\u00a0and the Publishers Marketing Association.\u00a0That lends even more credibility to my brand.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What affiliations and memberships can you advertise at your website that will heighten\u00a0standing credibility with customers and journalists?\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As soon as I joined the Better Business Bureau a few weeks ago, I started using the BBB logo at\u00a0my website.
