I had a blast yesterday choosing the six outfits I’ll be wearing for Zing boutique’s fashion show on April 23 here in Port Washington, Wis. A few of them are absolutely stunning. There’s also a fire engine red poncho-type raincoat that makes me look like Little Red Riding Hood. Perfect for walking the dog, with huge pockets for my keys, phone, gloves and plenty of poop bags. I promise to share photos with you. Here’s a promo video I shot.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
1. The Winning Slogan<\/h3>\n
A big wet doggy kiss to the 147 Hounds who participated in my slogan survey.<\/p>\n
Of the 10 new slogans I’m considering, “Unleash the Power of Free Publicity” ranked highest, followed by “Where Top Dogs Get Their PR Edge” and “Best in Show for Free PR Tips.”<\/p>\n
But none of them could topple the slogan I’ve been using for 15 years: “Tips, Tricks and Tools for Free Publicity.” All along, it was the clear winner.<\/p>\n
Publicity Hound Nick Nichols summed it up best:<\/p>\n
“Imagine that your current slogan is a parade float on which you are sitting. As time passes during the parade, you grow bored with your float (slogan) because it’s all you ever see.<\/p>\n
“However, the majority of the parade watchers (new people who’ve never heard of you) are seeing your slogan for the first time.<\/p>\n
“Just as with a memorable parade float, you want your slogan to immediately communicate the benefits of what you do so there’s no question about it to qualified prospects…Why mess with success? Your slogan, ‘Tips, Tricks and Tools for Free Publicity’ is perfect.”<\/p>\n

Read the fun bios of “Chicago Mom Bloggers We Love”<\/a> at the Red Tricycle blog. Notice how their personalities shine through in just a few sentences, like this one from Kim Moldofsky who blogs at Hormone-Colored Days:<\/p>\n
“Kim has been a dolphin trainer, corporate creativity trainer and potty trainer. Now the mom of two gifted teen boys, she writes, speaks and consults on social media. Also, she’s renovating a house. Oh, and she likes to blog about book reviews, crafts and local events. You guessed it: She\u2019s a busy girl.”<\/p>\n
