One of the best little tip sheets to hit my email box is Journalists Speak Out, the ezine published by Bulldog Reporter and edited by Brian Pittman.<\/p>\n
I find something useful in every one of them, like the nifty pitching tips in yesterday’s issue under the headline “Be a Resource, Not a ‘One Pitch’ Wonder: Four Ways to Keep Your Pitches \u2014 and Contact Information \u2014 Top of Mind in the Media.”<\/p>\n
They’re the types of tips my Publicity Hounds love. But unfortunately, they aren’t archived anywhere, nor do they show up on a blog. So I can’t link to them. In other words, I could be driving a lot of traffic to their website. But they’re making it difficult for me to do so.<\/p>\n
Bulldog Reporter sells pricey media lists. It hosts expensive teleconferences. It also publishes content-packed newsletters with advice on how to pitch the media. It sponsors the prestigious “Bulldog Awards for Excellence in Media Relations & Publicity” and hosts the Media Relations 2006 conference.<\/p>\n
I’ve recommended their services to my Hounds, and I love what they do. But why, oh why, do they make it so difficult for people like me to share the good stuff they’re offering for free?<\/p>\n
At the very least, they should start archiving the newsletters. Or offer some of the content at a blog. <\/p>\n
