In the process, I missed numerous opportunities to start building a community of people who cared about what I had to say, promote my business, and\u00a0give people a chance to know, like and trust me&#8212;and maybe even buy.<\/p>\n<p>But I stuck with it and, today, have several thousand friends as well as my own group, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/home.php?#\/group.php?gid=58255926944\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Friends of The Publicity Hound<\/a>, and Fan Pages.<\/p>\n<p>I know I&#8217;m not the only one who&#8217;s still\u00a0confused by certain parts of the user interface\u00a0because I hear frequent\u00a0complaints from people who say:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They can&#8217;t figure out the navigation.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They don&#8217;t know the difference between a Note and a News Feed.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They&#8217;re confused about their Home page versus their Profile page.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They want to actively promote something they sell but don&#8217;t know where to do that. When they experiment, they receive\u00a0a notice from Facebook that says they&#8217;re violating the terms of service. Yet many of their friends promote THEIR businesses and never get warned.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They\u00a0can&#8217;t figure out how to keep some content private and other content available to the world.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They know what they want to do, like create their own Group, but they can&#8217;t figure out how to do it because of the cluttered user interface.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The large number of Applications is overwhelming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s a short list of complaints.\u00a0I know I&#8217;m not alone, judging from the\u00a0gripes from other Facebook users who commented on <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2009\/04\/06\/the-growing-complexity-of-facebook-is-confusing-your-mom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Growing Complexity of Facebook is Confusing Your Mom<\/a> at the Techcrunch blog.
