If you’re posting press releases at your website, the best place to put them is in a section of your site called your Media Room. Ideally, the Media Room button will be on your home page so that journalists, one of your key audiences, can find it immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nine out of 10 organizations that archive their press releases separate them according to the year in which they were written. The problem with that, however, is that a journalist searching for a press release on a certain product you sell probably wouldn’t know where to start looking.<\/span><\/p>\n

So why not categorize press releases by topic? For example, topics can include new employees, products, services, special events, sales promotions, polls and surveys, etc.<\/p>\n

To make it even easier for anyone to find what they’re looking for, add a search function at your website.<\/b><\/p>\n

Opportunity #80: Trade show<\/p>\n

Always write a press release to let people know you are exhibiting at a trade show, or attending one. Before you go to the show, making valuable contacts with media people you know will be attending can pay big dividends in terms of publicity. You can make an appointment to talk to reporters who are covering the show and invite them to meet you at your booth so you can demonstrate a new product or show them what’s new at your company.
