NASA’s press release<\/a> about\u00a0moon dust, written by Dave Dooling, serves as a great example. I found eight things I love in\u00a0this release:<\/p>\n 1. A terrific, simple headline.<\/p>\n 2. A lead that really pulled me into the story, including punchy verbs that illustrated a\u00a0scene right out of Star Wars.<\/p>\n 3. Great quotes.\u00a0How many of us would have fallen back on the boring “We’re pleased and honored to announce blah-blah-blah…”<\/p>\n 4.\u00a0Technical information explained very clearly. Example: “Meteorites, many smaller than a pencil point….”<\/p>\n 5. Using fun words in the release like “Earthlings” and “lunatics.”<\/p>\n 6. Photos and graphics to help the read understand the topic.<\/p>\n 7. Two places where I can sign up\u00a0to receive more news from NASA.<\/p>\n 8.
