\"Get<\/a>Many of us on Twitter<\/a> are racking up followers so quickly that\u00a0we don’t stop to think about those people who\u00a0follow us, then click on “unfollow” when they read\u00a0one of our tweets that offends, angers or bores them.<\/p>\n

If you’re curious about which\u00a0followers have abandoned you, check out the free service Qwitter<\/a>. When you enter your Twitter username and email, Qwitter will send you an email when\u00a0someone stops following you. It will also tell you which tweet you posted immediately before that person defected.\u00a0You may never know the exact reason\u00a0why people are leaving,\u00a0but you might start to see a pattern.<\/p>\n

Are those emails arriving from Quitter after you tweet about politics? Or religion? Or what you had today for lunch?\u00a0Or every time you promote something you’re selling?\u00a0If so, you might want to rethink your Twitter strategy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The “what I had for lunch” tweets, by the way, are\u00a0starting to get tiresome.\u00a0Instead, why not\u00a0flag your\u00a0followers\u00a0to a terrific article, helpful website or fun quiz you’ve found online?<\/p>\n
