Here’s what Google’s former CEO Eric Schmidt has said can happen to you if you’re not active on Google+. The emphasis is mine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Within search results, information tied to verified online profiles will be ***ranked higher***<\/strong> than content without such verification, which will result in most users naturally clicking on the top verified) results. The true cost of remaining anonymous, then, might be irrelevance.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s how I interpret that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ignore Google+ and Google will ignore you.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
