Facebook&#8217;s Redesign &amp; You<br \/>\n======================================<\/p>\n<p>Facebook is giving its cluttered news feed a spring cleaning.<\/p>\n<p>The new look, which I love, is trickling out to users slowly so<br \/>\nFacebook can watch how people adjust to it and further tweak it<br \/>\nif necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the new look affects you:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;The first thing you&#8217;ll notice are photo stories, taken from<br \/>\ntiny thumbnails.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;You&#8217;ll see the same clean look wherever you use Facebook&#8211;on<br \/>\nmobile, tablet or the web.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;You&#8217;ll see bolder images and more and larger photos.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;You&#8217;ll see special sections for friends, photos and music. It&#8217;s<br \/>\nlike your own personalized newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;You can get Facebook exactly how you want it with your choice<br \/>\nof feeds: Most Recent (everything you like, in the order it<br \/>\nhappened), All Friends, Photos, Music, Following, Games and<br \/>\nGroups. If you choose the Photos feed, for example, you&#8217;ll get<br \/>\nnothing but photos from your friends and pages you&#8217;ve liked.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a short video that summarizes the changes.<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nWrUDgnVuHE<\/p>\n<p>I found it odd, however, that Facebook&#8211;which encourages Likes,<br \/>\nComments and Shares&#8211;has disabled all comments on this video.<\/p>\n<p>====================================<br \/>\n2. Ask for Reviews on LinkedIn<br \/>\n====================================<\/p>\n<p>If someone reads your book and loves it, do you give them a<br \/>\nchance to review it on your LinkedIn Company page?<\/p>\n<p>What if a company hires you to do a consulting project? Can they<br \/>\nwrite a testimonial for you in the Services section on your<br \/>\nCompany page?<\/p>\n<p>In both cases, they can review your products and services&#8211;but<br \/>\nonly if they&#8217;re listed on your Page.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes I&#8217;m so busy chasing after testimonials from happy<br \/>\ncustomers that I forget about this golden opportunity right on<br \/>\nLinkedIn. Here are three ways to prompt customers to write<br \/>\nreviews:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;When you get a glowing email from someone who gushes about a<br \/>\nproduct or service, jump over to your LinkedIn Company Page,<br \/>\nclick on &#8220;Products &amp; Services&#8221; in the menu bar, and add the<br \/>\nprodcut or service they&#8217;re raving about. A photo with a short<br \/>\ndescription is fine.
