In addition to their questions, here are some of our own. If you\u00a0have different target markets for different products and services,\u00a0you may want to run through this list of questions for each target market.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What are\u00a0the top three problems your target market struggles with?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>Of those three, which one keeps most people\u00a0up at 3 a.m.?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>What magazines, newspapers and print and online newsletters do they read?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>What TV shows do they watch, and what radio shows do they listen to?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>Do they listen to shows on BlogTalkRadio? If so, which ones?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>What blogs are their favorites?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>Do they follow or buy from your competitors? If so, who?\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Which discussion forums do they participate in?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>How old are they?<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>Where do they live?\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>What controversial topics are they interested in?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At a seminar I attended,\u00a0\u00a0Perry Marshall, one of my coaches,\u00a0said that you should know your target audience so well that you should be able to write\u00a0an entry as it would appear in\u00a0someone&#8217;s daily journal.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a good starting point for identifying your target market. If you&#8217;re not sure about the answers to any of the questions above, ask. If you own a bricks-and-mortar store, talk to your customers. If you business online, ask the question at your website or blog.\u00a0Once you get the answers to your questions, keep asking!<\/p>\n<p>What other questions do you ask yourself to identify your ideal audience?
