But your time might be better spent finding new clients, consulting, creating new products, or traveling the speaking circuit.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re hiring one of the distribution services or a freelance writer, make sure you know what you&#8217;re getting.<\/p>\n<p>Ask these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How do you get the information from me for the release? Do we talk by phone? Do I give you my notes? Or do I complete a questionnaire? (eReleases has listed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ereleases.com\/writing_questions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a variety of ways it can work with you.<\/a>)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>If I don&#8217;t like the release after you&#8217;ve written it, how many rewrites am I entitled to?<\/li>\n<li>What if I don&#8217;t like the angle you&#8217;ve taken? Can I suggest my own angle? (They&#8217;re the experts at this. Follow their advice.)\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Do you do all the search engine optimization?<\/li>\n<li>Do you use &#8220;no follow&#8221; links exclusively? (The answer should be yes.)<\/li>\n<li>What&#8217;s the maximum number of words you&#8217;ll write?<\/li>\n<li>Do you do any research if needed? If so, is there an additional fee?<\/li>\n<li>Do you proofread the press release before you send it out?<\/li>\n<li>Do you provide graphics services if I need a map or a chart created to accompany the release? (I don&#8217;t know of any that do.)<\/li>\n<li>May I see some samples of press releases you&#8217;ve written that have gotten results?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: On <a href=\"http:\/\/www.Fiverr.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fiverr.com<\/a>, you will find many freelance writers who are willing to write a release for $25-50. I recommend you not use anyone from Fiverr because you get what you pay for.
