\n1. Authors: 10 Million Readers Await
\n======================================<\/p>\n
Goodreads, the giant book review site, hit 10 million members
\nthis week.<\/p>\n
Those bookworms and casual readers are chatting up their summer
\nreads. They’re searching for their favorite authors at that site
\nso they can find out what THEY’RE reading.<\/p>\n
They’re joining the more than 20,000 book clubs, from virtual
\ngroups to small, in-person book clubs.<\/p>\n
Six books are added on Goodreads every second. The phenomenal
\ngrowth of this site, and the ease with which you can find your
\nniche audience, are two reasons I’ve been recommending it as a
\npowerful alternative to waiting around for a big newspaper or
\nmagazine to review your book.<\/p>\n
If you aren’t taking advantage of every feature in Goodreads’
\nauthor program, you’re missing out on scores of new readers and
\nleaving money on the table.<\/p>\n
But Goodreads isn’t the only site where readers gather.<\/p>\n
I found numerous online book groups, book review sites, book
\nforums and online book clubs. Some of them serve specific niches
\nlike romance, poetry, business, small press, the arts and sci-fi.
\nA few are devoted only to librarians who can become your biggest
\nadvocates.<\/p>\n
